Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by two main parts – a pattern of obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive and distressing thoughts, urges, or images. Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts done to reduce anxiety or prevent something bad from happening. The individual may feel relief from the compulsions at first, but in reality they cause more anxiety and distress.
